ExpressJet's Rotor Transition Program Works for You 

Rotor pilots, are you ready to make the transition to an airline career? ExpressJet’s Rotor Transition Program offers you the financial assistance and flexibility to make it happen. We provide up to $22,000 in assistance and flexible training options to obtain the final certifications necessary to begin your commercial aviation career with ExpressJet. Complete your training and earn your hours in a program that works for you – flight school, flying club, personal aircraft or other qualifying route.

The ExpressJet Rotor Transition Program Works for You

  1. Partner with our Rotor Transition Specialist to develop the training plan that works for you
  2. Carry out your training plan within six months of joining our Rotor Transition Program
  3. Upon meeting ExpressJet’s hiring requirements, begin flying as a first officer with ExpressJet
  4. Join the United Career Path Program for a direct path to a flying career at United Airlines

ExpressJet Rotor Transition Program Entry Requirements

Rotor pilots enlisting in the program should meet the following requirements:

  • 500 hours total time for Military Rotor Pilots, or 1,250 hours total time for Civilian Rotor Pilots
  • 100 hours cross country time
  • 75 hours night time
  • 75 hours instrument time

After completing the ExpressJet Rotor Transition Program, pilots should meet the following requirements to begin training as a first officer:

  • 750 hours total time for Military Rotor Pilots, or 1,500 hours total time for Civilian Rotor Pilots
  • 200 hours cross country time
  • 100 hours night time
  • 75 hours instrument time
  • 25 hours multi-engine time
